DamijanMiklavcic was born in 1963. He received a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, in 1993. He is currently a Full Professor, Head of the Laboratory of Biocybernetics, and Chair of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Ljubljana. During the last two decades his research has been focused on electroporation-based gene transfer and drug delivery, development of electronic hardware, and numerical modeling of biological processes. In last few years his interest lies in further advancing and developing electrochemotherapy (electroporation combined with anticancer drugs) as a local cancer treatment of internal tumors.
