Abstract:

It is well known that there is no way to know what came from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) from ahaadeeth and hadiths except through narrators and narrators who transmitted his news generation after generation. Therefore, knowing the conditions of these narrators and moving, following their paths, understanding their purposes and purposes, knowing their ranks and classes, and distinguishing their trusts from their weak ones is the most important means of knowing the truth of the news from their imbeciles. This is the "science of wound and modification", which is unparalleled in any nation, even counting this science is one of the most important science of modern and the greatest issue, because it is characterized by the correct of the poor, and acceptable of the return. Which read the books of men, translations, wounds and modification, stands dazzled in front of this science, which can not be a coincidence or in vain, but made efforts, and built the ages until the summit of Hassan and the highest quality.

من الأمور المعلومة بداهة أنه لا سبيل إلى معرفة ما جاء عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم من أحاديث وأخبار إلا عن طريق الرواة والنقلة الذين نقلوا أخباره جيلاً بعد جيل، وطبقة بعد طبقة حتى دونت السنة في الكتب المعتمدة المعروفة .  ولذلك كان الاطلاع على أحوال هؤلاء الرواة والنقلة، وتتبع مسالكهم، وإدراك مقاصدهم وأغراضهم، ومعرفة مراتبهم وطبقاتهم، وتمييز ثقاتهم من ضعافهم هو الوسيلة الأهم لمعرفة صحيح الأخبار من سقيمها، مما نتج عنه نشوء علم عظيم وضعت له القواعد، وأسست له الأسس والضوابط، فكان مقياساً دقيقاً ضبطت به أحوال الرواة، من حيث التوثيق والتضعيف، ذلك هو " علم الجرح والتعديل " الذي لا نظير له عند أمة من الأمم، حتى عُدَّ هذا العلم من أهم علوم الحديث وأعظمها شأنا، إذ به يتميز الصحيح من السقيم، والمقبول من المردود .  والذي يطالع كتب الرجال والتراجم والجرح والتعديل، يقف مبهوراً أمام هذا العلم الذي لا يمكن أن يكون وضع صدفة أو عبثا، بل بذلت فيه جهود، وفنيت فيه أعمار حتى بلغ قمة الحسن ومنتهى الجودة .
