DJILLALI LIABES UNIVERSITY HONORED AT THE ARAB FORUM FOR UNIVERSITY RANKINGS (QS ARAB FORUM)

Representing the Rector of Djillali Liabes University, the Dean of the Faculty of Natural and Life Sciences, Professor Mohamed Ali Bouzidi, took part in the Arab Forum for University Rankings (QS Arab Forum) hosted by Sultan Qaboos University. During the event, Djillali Liabes University was honored for its outstanding academic and scientific efforts, achieving the 191st place worldwide.

MINUTE OF SILENCE AT THE FACULTY OF NATURAL AND LIFE SCIENCES IN MEMORY OF THE OCTOBER 17, 1961 MASSACRES

From the heart of the university campus and within the Faculty of Natural and Life Sciences (SNV), a minute of silence was observed on Thursday, October 16, 2025, in honor of the 64th anniversary of the October 17, 1961 massacres, coinciding with the National Day of Immigration.
Under the motto “Memory is the source of life and the key to the future,” the faculty community gathered in a symbolic act of remembrance, reaffirming that building a scientific future cannot be achieved without preserving the national memory and honoring the sacrifices of our ancestors.

NOTICE OF POSTPONEMENT OF THE “SPIRULINA” TRAINING SESSION IN SIDI BEL ABBÈS

The joint fisheries and aquaculture team announces the postponement of the training session on “Spirulina” to Thursday, October 23, 2025, instead of Wednesday, October 22, 2025.
This training, supervised by the Technological Institute of Fisheries and Aquaculture of Béni Saf, aims to train participants in the production and valorization of spirulina, in collaboration with the Directorate of Fisheries of Sidi Bel Abbès

2ND EDITION OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC PRIZE FOR THE INNOVATIVE RESEARCHER

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announces the launch of the 2nd Edition of the President of the Republic Prize for the Innovative Researcher, open to academic staff, permanent researchers, and university students who have developed innovative projects with scientific and economic impact.
The prize aims to promote scientific research, technological development, and innovation in support of a knowledge-based economy and national development.
The eight fields covered are: science and technology, health sciences, environment and sustainable development, humanities and social sciences, cybersecurity, food security, water security, and energy security.

Registration opens: November 16, 2025

Application deadline: January 16, 2026

PhD Re-Registration 2025-2026

The Vice-Dean in charge of Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research informs PhD students that the re-registration process for the 2025/2026 academic year has begun.

🔹 Registration must be completed exclusively through the digital platform PROGRES at the following link:
https://progres.mesrs.dz/webfve

Students are required to complete the online registration and then submit the hard-copy file.

📄 Required documents:

Re-registration form signed by the thesis supervisor (downloadable from the platform).
Progress report (état d’avancement) validated by the supervisor.
Proof of payment of registration fees.
Copy of the previous year’s registration certificate.

📍 Submission place: Postgraduate Office at the faculty.

🔔 Important notes:

Students must contact and coordinate with their supervisors regarding the progress of their thesis before completing the re-registration.
All registered PhD students are concerned by this process, including those who are behind schedule.
4th- and 5th-year LMD PhD students are required to submit extension requests to the Vice-Dean for Postgraduate Studies for review by the Faculty Scientific Council.
Any student who fails to re-register via the PROGRES platform within the set deadline will be considered unregistered.

📆 Re-registration deadline: October 31, 2025.

ELECTION OF THE SCIENTIFIC BODIES OF THE FACULTY

On Monday, October 13th, 2025, the election process for the renewal of the scientific bodies (departmental scientific committees and the scientific council) of the Faculty of Natural and Life Sciences officially began.
