Duties and Departments of the Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies, Scientific Research, and External Relations

1 – Postgraduate Affairs Department:
Led by the Head of Department and assisted by administrative staff. Their main tasks are as follows:

  • Monitoring doctoral competitions at the faculty level.
  • Registration and re-registration of PhD students.
  • Resolving the situations of delayed or suspended PhD students wishing to resume scientific research.
  • Registering the titles of PhD theses that have not yet been defended on the National Thesis Portal.
  • Sorting and reviewing PhD students’ files submitted for thesis defense committees.
  • Issuing PhD or Doctorate of Science certificates to students who have defended their theses.
  • Monitoring the activities of the doctoral training committees.
  • Following up and assisting Associate Professors “B” applying for promotion to Associate Professor “A”.
  • Following up and assisting Associate Professors “A” applying for promotion to Full Professor.
  • Monitoring the activities of the Faculty Scientific Council and providing it with the necessary administrative files when needed.
  • Monitoring the election process of departmental scientific committees and the Faculty Scientific Council.
  • Coordinating with the Digital Office to digitize the archives of the Vice Dean’s Office for Postgraduate Studies, Scientific Research, and External Relations.
  • Other activities related to urgent or occasional tasks.

2 – Scientific Research Department:
Led by the Head of Department and assisted by administrative staff. Their main responsibilities are:

  • Recording and monitoring the progress of research project files of faculty members involved in national research programs such as the University Research and Training Program (PRFU), the National Research Program (PNR), and Institutional Projects (PE).
  • Recording and monitoring the files of research laboratories affiliated with the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

3 – External Relations Department:
Led by the Head of Department, whose main duties are:

  • Managing short-term mobility abroad in its various forms.
  • Recording and monitoring the files of faculty members organizing or supervising international or national scientific events.
  • Monitoring the files of PhD students and researchers who benefited from international cooperation programs.
  • Recording and following up study days and scientific conferences.
  • Recording, following up, and proposing cooperation agreements between Djillali Liabes University and national or foreign universities, in accordance with the orientations and policies of the Algerian state.
