64th Commemoration of the National Day of Emigration – October 17, 1961/2025

    Under the slogan “Solidarity and Commitment,” the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences today held a special ceremony to commemorate the Day of Emigration on October 17, 1961.

    The events began in the faculty courtyard with the national anthem “Kassaman” and the raising of the national flag, followed by a moment of silence in tribute to the souls of the righteous martyrs.

    The Dean of the Faculty, Professor Ahmar Kadda, then delivered a speech recalling the virtues and sacrifices of the martyrs for freedom and independence, emphasizing the importance of instilling patriotic values in university generations.

    Subsequently, the University Director, Professor Bouziani Merahi, gave a speech highlighting the immense sacrifices and eternal achievements of the nation’s martyrs, urging everyone to uphold the message of loyalty to their glorious history.

    Following this, attendees visited an exhibition organized in the faculty lobby by the Book Mediators Club and the Communication Club, which featured a collection of historical photos and posters documenting that era of struggle.

    The ceremony concluded with participants moving to the “Ben Aoun Bentou” Hall, where a historical seminar was held, featuring rich academic discussions on the national and historical significance of the Day of Emigration.

    In closing, emphasis was placed on the necessity of fostering a sense of belonging and pride in the nation among students, drawing inspiration from the values of sacrifice and loyalty exemplified by the eternal journey of the martyrs, to preserve the memory and glorious history of the nation.
