Million-Tree afforestation campaign at the Institute of Agronomic Sciences under the supervision of the University Director

As part of the national initiative “Million Tree Afforestation Campaign” and in celebration of the National Tree Day on October 25, 2025, the Institute of Agronomic Sciences, carried out a large-scale afforestation operation covering multiple areas of the institute.

This national environmental initiative saw active participation from administrative staff, faculty members, students, employees, and institute workers. Over 200 trees of various species were planted across several spaces within the institute’s campus,

embodying the national strategic vision to restore vegetation cover, preserve ecological balance, and promote the concept of sustainability. It also aligns with efforts to protect forest resources and contribute to creating a balanced ecosystem.

The operation was widely appreciated by all participants. The University Director, Professor Bouziani Merahi, attended and encouraged the efforts, actively joining students in planting trees, thereby demonstrating strong values of solidarity and fraternity. Students expressed great enthusiasm for this initiative, which aligned with the goals of the national campaign.

Student organizations and scientific clubs collaborated to make the day a success, while thanking the Institute Director, Dr. Khaldi Amina, for her warm welcome to students and guests. The organizers expressed hope to extend this successful experience and replicate it across other faculties, to maximize benefits and achieve environmental goals on a broader scale.

This initiative is part of the university presidency’s contribution to promoting sustainable development, preserving the environment, and instilling a culture of planting and afforestation within the university community.
