
Sidi Bel Abbès University Celebrates the 71st Anniversary of the Outbreak of the Glorious November 1st Revolution
On the occasion of the glorious anniversary of the outbreak of the November 1st Liberation Revolution, Djilali Liabès University of Sidi Bel Abbès organized a series of commemorative activities under the patronage of the University Director, Professor Bouziani Merahi, and with the participation of the Secretary General of the University, Dr. Ben Hamid Abdelkader, the University Vice-Directors, Faculty Deans, Heads of Departments, the Institute Director, the Central Library Director, Heads of Activity Services, social partners, and representatives of scientific clubs.
The events began with the raising of the national flag in the courtyard of the “Dr. Abbouni Bouziane” Central Library, as an expression of loyalty to the revolution’s martyrs and to immortalize the memory of national heroism.
The attendees then moved to inaugurate the lecture hall at the Faculty of Letters and Languages, named “November 1, 1954” as well as the football field named “the Late Nemichi Zowaoui“, where the kickoff was given for the football tournament held in honor of this occasion.
The official ceremony took place in the lecture hall of the “Abbouni Bouziane” Central Library. It included a speech by the University Director, Professor Bouziani Merahi, followed by a valuable address by Professor Ould Nebia, and then a speech by the Museum Director, Mr. Abbas.
As part of the tribute to symbolic figures and their contributions, the family of the Late Nemichi Zowaoui was honored in appreciation of the deceased’s journey and contributions. Students who achieved top ranks in national competitions, as well as university teams that secured first and second places, were also recognized.
Thus, following in the footsteps of their ancestors, Djilali Liabès University writes new chapters of glory on the 71st anniversary of the outbreak of the glorious liberation revolution.
