UNESCO-Russia Mendeleev International Prize in Basic Sciences

For the purpose of disseminating this information to the entire academic and research community, I am pleased to announce the launch of the call for applications for the 4th UNESCO-Russia Mendeleev International Prize in Basic Sciences.

Established in 2019 by the UNESCO Executive Board, the UNESCO-Russia Mendeleev International Prize in Basic Sciences, the statutes of which are attached, aims to promote and reward excellence in the basic sciences, particularly chemistry, physics, mathematics, and biology, which are essential for advancing innovation and sustainable development. It seeks to recognize major achievements in the development, dissemination, and international cooperation of the basic sciences.

UNESCO invites its Member States, including Algeria, in consultation with their National Commissions, non-governmental organizations maintaining official relations with UNESCO and active in the fields covered by the prize, UNESCO Chairs, Category 2 Centres, international scientific unions, and universities to nominate individual candidates for the 4th UNESCO-Russia Mendeleev International Prize in Basic Sciences.

Two (2) laureates will be awarded USD 250,000 each.
