National Symposium at the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences: Digitalization as a Mechanism to Achieve Quality and Innovation in the Algerian University

On April 19, 2026, the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences at Djillali Liabes University of Sidi Bel Abbès hosted the proceedings of the national symposium entitled: “Contribution of Digitalization to Achieving Quality in Higher Education and Scientific Research Institutions: Towards an Innovative and Developed Future”, organized in collaboration with the PRFU research team “Public Relations in the Context of Digital Transformations”.

This symposium was attended by the University Rector, Professor Bouziani Merahi, the Dean of the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences, the Dean of the Faculty of Management and Economic Sciences, the Dean of the Faculty of Technology, the Director of the Annex of the Higher Teachers’ College, as well as the Vice-Deans of the faculty and Department Heads, and a distinguished gathering of professors, researchers, and students, alongside a wide remote participation via modern communication technologies.

The organization of this symposium is part of keeping pace with the rapid digital transformations taking place in the higher education sector. It constituted a scientific space for exchanging visions and experiences on ways to use digitalization to improve the quality of university training and promote scientific research, in line with the requirements of sustainable development and the construction of a knowledge economy.

The work of this scientific meeting was characterized by specialized academic interventions and rich discussions, focusing on mechanisms for integrating modern technology into the university system, enhancing innovation, and developing pedagogical and research performance.

This scientific event also represents an important step towards consolidating a culture of digital transformation within university institutions, and opening new horizons for sector stakeholders to contribute to building a modern university that responds to future challenges.
