The University of Sidi Bel Abbès participates in the proceedings of the Regional Conference of Western Universities (CRUO) at the University of Relizane
As part of strengthening regional university coordination and implementing the directives of the supervisory ministry, Prof. Bouziani Merahi, Director of the University of Sidi Bel Abbès, participated in the proceedings of the Regional Conference of Western Universities (CRUO), hosted by Ahmed Zabana University of Relizane, on the morning of Saturday, April 25, 2026.
The proceedings were chaired by Professor Ahmed Chaalal, President of the CRUO, in the presence of the Directors of higher education institutions from the western region.
This meeting was held in implementation of the directives of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, issued following his meeting with the Presidents of the regional conferences on Thursday, April 2, 2026, which was dedicated to evaluating various pedagogical and organizational measures.
During the meeting, participants addressed several key themes, including:
- Evaluation of the second semester;
- Development of the pedagogical system;
- Promotion of entrepreneurship and innovation culture in the university environment;
- Support for inter-institutional university cooperation and exchange;
- Assessment of student life quality;
- Strategies for the development of scientific research;
- Miscellaneous university affairs.
On the sidelines of the meeting, several cooperation and partnership agreements were signed between Ahmed Zabana University of Relizane and the universities of the western region, including the University of Sidi Bel Abbès, as well as the universities of Saïda, Oran, Mascara, Tiaret, Naâma, and El Bayadh.
These agreements aim to strengthen coordination and the exchange of expertise, develop joint university work, and build bridges of academic and scientific cooperation among higher education institutions in the western region.
At the conclusion of the proceedings, Prof. Bouziani Merahi and all attendees extended their sincere thanks and gratitude to the Director of the University of Relizane for the excellent welcome and organization, as well as to all the Directors of university institutions and representatives of participating bodies for their spirit of cooperation and active contribution, which distinguished this meeting.
